There are many ways to define the term leadership. Perhaps the most
basic definition is simply the ability to gain the support and
cooperation of other people. The YMCA of McHenry County’s interest in
leadership goes beyond training people merely to gain the support and
cooperation of others; the YMCA of McHenry County’s interest is directed
toward training others for efforts that will benefit the common good and
will help the individuals involved reach their own potentials in the
process. The YMCA Teen Leaders Club seeks not merely to develop good
leaders but “leaders for good.” Teens Leaders Club is an opportunity for
teens, ages 13-17, to develop their leadership skills, enjoy social
activities, and provide service to our local community. Through monthly
meetings, participants will determine which projects they would like to
complete as well as initiate fundraising efforts for their 3 social
events which occur throughout the school year.
