  • ACTIVITIES

Weekly activities focusing on the Four Core Values of the YMCA's Character Development Program: Honesty, Caring, Respect & Responsibility.

We will not be publishing theme information this year. We will be having a theme but it will not be announced until Monday mornings. We have found that the theme is a very small part of our program and can actually be misleading to parents when they are choosing a camp. The implementation of the themes is the special event and craft project, a very small portion of our schedule. The main focus of our program is on the wide array of activities that we offer: sports, arts, nature, character development, crafts, archery, kayaking, clubs and camper choice. Our schedule remains consistent throughout the summer and the majority of camp is not focused on the theme. If the theme was Spy Campers many parents were led to believe that the entire weeks activities were going to be focused on being spies and detectives when actually it was just the special event and two craft projects. We feel that by removing the themes we are able to focus our program on the exceptional variety of programming not found anywhere else in the area as opposed to letting parents down when they were expecting the entire program to be focused on a particular theme
